Pemberton
Pemberton, South West
Pemberton is a town situated within the South West region of Western Australia. It was named in honor of Pemberton Walcott, an early settler in the area.
The town's most famous flora is the Gloucester Tree, which functions as a fire lookout. The platform is located 64 meters aboveground and affords spectacular views of the surrounding bush land and the coastline. The lookout has been in use since 1946 and was named after the Duke of Gloucester, which was present in the area during that time.
Another climbing tree is located near the town, the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree. The lookout platform is located 70 meters up and around the tree are several nature trails and picnic spots. Read more...
