Australia is located west of the South Pacific Ocean and is one of the largest countries and the smallest continent at the same time. Its location and size both contributes to unique land and water features which makes this country one of the most visited tourist destinations during the holiday seasons.

The reef is the largest recorded coral formation featuring thousands of kilometres of a complex network of colourful corals and under water life forms. Tourists can just spend countless hours snorkeling or scuba diving in these beautiful and majestic reef.

Queensland and the Gold Coast also boast of some of the worlds most pristine sandy white beaches. Tourists will definitely be captivated with the crystal clear ocean that is great for both swimming and surfing. The beach also allows tourists to just sit back and allow the sound of the lapping waves or the cool ocean breeze envelope them in a state of tranquility that is sure to rejuvenate both body and soul.

Sydney which is located just further south of Queensland also offers tourists a few attractions that are on the must-visit list of most vacationers. One of these is the Opera House which showcases an award winning architectural design. From the Harbour Bridge or on the waters of the harbour, the Opera House has been the subject of many photographs.

The state of Sydney is also the best place to base in for those who wish to go on cruises to see the migrating humpback or blue whales. From late of May to early December, the waters located just off the coast of Sidney is the temporary home of several humpbacks and blue whales taking advantage of the warmer waters. With binoculars on hand or from a safe closer distance, tourists will be enthralled while these mammals leap from the ocean and show off their majestic forms.

For those who prefer the cooler regions, the Perisher Valley is just the destination for them. Located on the Australian Alps in Victoria, the valley features the best ski runs ideal for both pros and beginners. Aside from skiing, tourists can also visit the Kosciusko National Park.

Australia also boasts of a rich history and culture. A visit to this country will not be complete without a tour of the Australian Capital Territory, Canberra in particular. On Capital Hill, over looking the pristine waters of Lake Burley Griffin stands the Parliament House with its very high flag pole. The Parliament House also showcases some of the country's premier works of art which have been successfully incorporated in its interior.

Also located in Canberra is the Australian War Memorial on Anzac Parade. It is not only a memorial but also is a museum featuring exhibits which not only commemorates the war but also showcases premier works of art in the form of stained glass or paintings.
