Daylesford is a town located in the central part of Victoria, at the foot of the Great Dividing Range. The town was named after the birthplace of Warren Hastings in England. Hastings was the first governor-general of India.

The town's most famous attractions are its mineral springs, whose waters are believed to contain therapeutic properties. This has made Daylesford and the adjacent town of Hepburn Springs to be recognized as the `Spa Centre of Australia.'
