Great Ocean Road — Victoria

The Great Ocean Road is one of the perfect nature tourist destinations in the southern part of Australia. Just lying in the heart between Geelong and Torquay, the Surfcoast Highway as it is commonly known to the locals is considered as Australia’s best coastline drives. In fact, the Great Ocean Road has been the one of the most documented coastline that appeared in many movie films and music videos and was once voted in an international survey as the most scenic coastline in the world.

Closely knitted to the southern seacoast, the great Ocean Road covers a panoramic view of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean. Close to the port, you can find Campbell Section which shows the striking and wonderful natural rock sculptures. Among its many rock formations, the most popular is the Loch Ard Gorge, The Grotto, which replicates an altar and finally, the world famous Twelve Apostles that resembles the disciples of Jesus standing and some are kneeling. The now know as London Arch was formerly called London Bridge but the locals called it “arch” instead when the land section or the “bridge” collapsed in its own natural order. Other formations also include the Blow Hole and the Elephant Rock which got its name form the huge build of the mammal. These rock formations are naturally formed through time as the waves sculptured the rocks during high tides and low tides.

The Great Ocean Road is a natural park that has earned the admiration and awe of foreign and local tourists. These natural forms portray forms and figures as they are yet impossible to have been touched or sculpted by human hands being surrounded by ocean waters. These rock formations have unique and intricate designs of lines that have earned the interest of artists like painters and photographers alike. Standing along the Great Ocean Road is almost posing on a picture perfect postcard.

The SurfCoast Highway is a wonderful area for scenic long drives. You can also park along the well-maintained highway and enjoy spending your time watching the panoramic view as your skin feels the cool and soothing water mist that plays in the air. A lazy afternoon drive can also be truly romantic and fun. Water sport enthusiasts can also enjoy the shoreline next to the Great Ocean Road that caters to jet ski rides that will make you frolic in the waves or the high water surfing that you will never forget.

The terrain opposite the Surfcoats Highway is a home to natural waterfalls and fresh waterways that is ideal for outdoor hiking and backpacking with your family and friends. There are also cozy spa clinics hidden in these natural destinations to take care of your well-being needs. Enjoy the therapeutic massage and aromatherapy treatments that will surely ease your toiled body in a homey setting.
