The months June to August is usually the coldest times during the year with temperature ranging from 4°C to 14°C.  Just medium to light clothing is recommended for tourists.  Winter is also the wettest season during the year although rainfall is fairly spread during the seasons.  The western part where Strahan is located averages 1400 mm of rainfall a year, while Hobart which is located on the south-eastern region only averages 507 mm of rainfall a year making it one of the driest areas in Australia.  Water supply however is not a problem in Hobart.

The most ideal time to visit Tasmania is during the summer months of December to February.  Guests get to enjoy the coast without the searing heat of summer sun like most of Australian mainland coasts.  During these months, temperature ranges from 9°C to 24°C which is just the ideal temperature for a day on the beach or on the water for boating.
