Launceston & Tasmanian North East Region —Tasmania

The Northeastern region of Tasmania is known for the sunny beaches and natural scenery. Home to Tasmania’s second largest city of Launceston, this region is popular for its fertile land and quality timber. This region also has the relics of former mining areas in Tasmania.

Launceston, the third oldest city in Australia, is also known as ‘The Garden City’ for a number of parklands in the city. Flinders Island, located off the northeast tip of Tasmania in the Furneaux Group of islands, is the largest of the Bass Strait Islands. The place has some great fishing and diving opportunities.
