Glossop is relatively a small service town located in the region of Riverland in South Australia. It was formally known as the town in a soldier community area after the World War I back in 1921. Glossop actually got his name from Vice Admiral Glossop who was in charge of the HMAS Sydney when it sank the German vessel SMS Emden in 1914. There is a gum tree which is said to be lemon-scented that dates back seventy five years, which hangs over the cellar door sales and this welcomes the tourists and visitors of the place. This place produces wine both for the domestic and international markets with such a consistently high quality of wines.
People would be able to take pleasure in tasting the various wines that came from an extensive collection of the winery. Tourists can choose between excellent Hardy Wines or they can also partake of local wines such as duka, oil, olives, and quandongs. Some local brands are the Voyage, Nottage Hill, and Banrock Station. Visitors would surely be astonished at the storage capacity and vast size of the biggest working distillery and winery complex in all of Australia. The winery was initially owned by a local cooperative however, it is now owned by Constellation Brands.
Berri Estates Winery is actually handicapped-friendly as it has an access with support for the disabled people. Though Glossop is relatively small, it still houses a gallery of Aboriginal art from Australia, a small deli, two gas stations and a few hardware stores. Some schools that tourists can also visit are the Riverland Christian School, Glossop Primary School and Glossop High School.
