Upon arriving at the island, visitors get to see Fairry Penguins walk back to shore after spending the day in the sea. These tours starts at dusk and an experienced guide will help explain the animals' behaviors as they come ashore. One good way to learn about the city's local history is for visitors to drop by the Victor Harbor National Trust Museum located on Flinders Parade. Bushwalking is the main activity done at the Newland Head Conservation Park, situated west of the city. Nature walks lead visitors to forested areas and spectacular beaches that are ideal for surfing. Camping facilities are also provided for those wishing to stay the night.

One unique attraction that Victor Harbor boasts of is the Wild Rose Garden and Miniature Village, located on Adelaide Road. This attraction features replicas of South Australia heritage buildings that were meticulously made. The rose garden highlights several rose varieties that are quite delightful when in bloom. Visitors can sit down in glass-walled Tearooms and sip teas while enjoying the profusion of colors all around.
