Located at the picturesque southern end of the famous Moroochy region, Mooloolaba is a tourist resort township of Sunshine Coast. Originally called Mooloolah Heads, the present name of the township was given by Thomas O'Connor in 1919 when he subdivided land for sale at this place.

Mooloolaba offers a rare combination of both seaside and riverside locations. The seaside is marked by the Mooloolaba Spit, which is the main beach in Mooloolaba. It is a popular hangout with families enjoying relaxed picnics at the transparent waters and children enjoy surfing, swimming and fishing.
