The museum is located in Bunyan Street, across Maleny Hotel. It is only open during Sundays, for a very limited time. It may, however, be visited by the public during special holidays in Australia, such as Remembrance Day. There are also a number of photos of them all over the museum.

After your trip at the museum, you may want to proceed to the handicrafts market, which is open between 9 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon right at the rural hall. You can feast your eyes to the various designs created by the well-known craftsperson in the region. Of course, there are also several art studios and galleries in the area. In fact, Maleny is home of many notable painters, sculptors, and other artists in Australia.

You can also find several well-designed pots in Bunya Street. If you’re a certified art lover, you will surely want to keep tabs on the several arts exhibitions in the town. You can also buy any of the artistic pieces that they sell in their specialty shops or art galleries.  

The weather of Maleny is excellent for growing wines, and with that, there are various kinds of wineries and cellars located in this rural town. An example is the Maleny Mountain Wines. They normally serve wines that are highly similar to those of Italy. This is a private property, so you may want to set an appointment if you want to take a tour. Besides having a cellar door, it also has a small café where you can pair your favorite wine with any of the breads or cheeses offered by the facility.

Very close to the winery is the Mary Cairncross Reserve. Its lot size is more than 50 hectares and is filled with several flora and fauna. The natural rainforest is actually home of gliders, bandicoots, geckos, skinks, willie wagtails, rosellas, pigeons, owels, lorikeets, wallabies, pademelons, currawongs, and goshawks, to name a few. You can also look down and discover several differently sized holes all over. These could have been caused by the huge earthworms or the spiders.
