Westfield Helensvale Shopping Centre
As the newest shopping centre to the Gold Coast, Westfield Helensvale has just opened and at first glaces its hard not to notice the locals and tourists alike enjoying the trendy outside alfresco dining area detached from the centre - Something that has not been duplicated from any other shopping centre. With its own tavern and large retail outlets such as target and Kmart, which are the only stores of their kind on the Gold Coast to stay open till 9pm every day of the week, Westfield Helensvale has a few good points which sets it apart from other Gold Coast Shopping Centres.
With over 160 stores, the newest Westfield in Queensland, and first ever to the Gold Coast has a vast variety of shops including banks, books, cafes, chemists, electronics, fashion, florists, a great food court which lots of seating and variety of foods from around the world, footwear, gifts, hair and beauty, health and fitness, jewellery and much, much more. In a convienient location opposite the Helensvale Train station, Westfield Helensvale is easy to access and has heaps of parking. Premier and Treasurer Peter Beattie officially opened the new Westfield Helensvale Town Centre shopping centre on October 14 2005 and stated “The Gold Coast population is expected to increase from around 475,000 people now to just under 720,000 people by 2026. Westfield Helensvale will help provide the services and the jobs that a growing population needs.”
Although this is a new shopping centre, the word from the locals is that they expected it to be bigger and better. For a shopping experience not to be beaten, visit Pacific Fair or Robina Town Centre. For those who know Noosa Civic Shopping Centre, it is very much the same.
