A suburb of Gold Coast, Main Beach is the main tourist attraction around Gold Coast. It's a small district snuggled between Southport Broadwater and the Pacific Ocean. History tells us that during the early years when Southport was the urban center of recreational activity at Gold coast, visitors were ferried across the Broadwater to surf at the Main Beach. Thus, Main Beach got its name because it was the main surf beach for the town of Southport. And it's still one of the favorites among the surfers!
