Labrador is primarily a residential suburb in the city of Gold Coast, fronting the Broadwater estuary in the east. It is bounded by several suburbs, Biggera Waters in the north, Southport in the south, and Arundel in the west. The place-name was said to be established by investor Robert Muir and perpetuated by a hotel of the same name that was constructed and destroyed by fire in the late 19th century.
