One of the suburbs located in the city of Golf Coast is Biggera Waters, named after the creek that runs through it. It is one of the suburbs facing the Broadwater estuary, and the South Pacific Ocean beyond. The place-name is a Yugambeh term for the red iron bark tree, Eucalyptus sideroploia. Nearby suburbs would be the Runaway Bay to the north and Labrador to the south.

One notable structure found in within the area is the 19th century heritage home called ``Finis'' built on Land's End, the point where the Biggera Creek exits to the Broadwater.
