Sydney Airport
Kingsford Smith International Airport is more popularly known as Sydney Airport. It is situated in the region of Sydney, New South Wales, next to Botany Bay. Although it is the smallest capital city airport in entire Australia, it is one of the oldest operating airports in the whole world. It is also the major airport in Sydney and the busiest airport in Australia serving more than 30 million passengers and operating almost 300,000 aircrafts. In 2003, it actually ranked 28th as the busiest airport in the world.
Sydney Airport has a variety of services and amenities to offer. Tourists can immediately book for a reservation in their first class hotel. The hotel staff can also help them book for other services such as tour, cruise and entertainment shows.
Shopping enthusiasts would also find the airport as their shopping haven. There is a shopping center for both international and domestic terminals. Sydney Airport offers great discounts and promos for bargain hunters. Passengers can enjoy their time while waiting for their flights by visiting these shopping centers inside the airport.
Travelers can take a bite of the mouth-watering foods, and sip refreshing drinks in several restaurants, bars and cafes around the airport terminals. They can satisfy their hunger by eating gourmet foods served freshly. Coffee addicts can also kill their time while sipping deliciously hot coffee from Aroma or Santos café.
Kids would surely be amused because they can enjoy their time in the Children’s Play Areas found in Terminal 1 in counters A, B and J. There is also a Kid’s Cinema located in Pier B and C where kids can comfortably sit and watch interesting and educational shows.
Emergency situations can be quickly resolved in the airport’s Medical Center situated on Level 3 in Terminal 1. They offer many health services not just for travelers but also for their staff and visitors in the airport.
Internet buffs can indulge in their favorite pastime by using the airport’s free internet facilities. These can be found in small kiosks all over the Sydney airport Terminal 1.
Religious tourists might want to check out the airport’s Prayer room, which is located on 3rd level of Terminal 1. Anxious travelers can pray for a safe trip and meditate to ease their tensions.
Travelers in need of immediate cash can always run to an available ATM scattered throughout the Sydney airport terminals.
Phone booths are also dispersed on different sites on the 1st and 2nd levels of Terminal 1. This is to ensure that all travelers would have a way to communicate with their family, friends or business associates if they do not have a mobile phone at hand.
People who need to take a shower can avail of the Shower Room facility free of charge. However, they need to provide their own towels since the airport currently does not offer complimentary towels.
After traveling the whole country, tourists can pamper themselves in the massage parlors available in the airport to feel relaxed and rejuvenated before coming back home.
