Murwillumbah is a town located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, a mere 13 kilometers from the border of Queensland. It is located on the banks of the Tweed River, at the foot of the McPherson Range. The place-name is a combination of Aboriginal words that translates to 'camping place'.
The town's visitor information center shares its office with the National Parks and Wildlife Service, making the whole entity known as The World Heritage Rainforest Centre.
