
Urunga is a small town located in the North Coast region of New South Wales. It is distinctly located at the mouths of two rivers, the Kalang and the Bellinger Rivers. Its place-name was derived from an Aboriginal word that translates into ‘long white sands.’

There is also a doll shop in the area, where accessories and doll houses can be purchased.
Along Morgo Street is the Bellinger Valley Historical Museum, which is the ideal destination for those wishing to know about life in the surrounding areas during the past centuries. The museum itself is housed in a historic wooden building that was constructed in 1896.
Those interested in the town’s history should head out to the Urunga Library, located along Bonville Street, to view exhibits relating to the Aboriginal people originally living in the area, as well as on the subsequent settlement of Europeans. The town’s development into its present state is also traced.
Urban leisure can be obtained at Urunga’s Bowling Club, located along Pacific Highway.
