The metropolitan area of Newcastle is located in the central eastern coast of New South Wales, about 2 hours north of Sydney. It is located on the mouth of the Hunter Region and is known to be rich in history and natural attractions.

On the eastern part of Newcastle, there are several interesting and often historic places to visit and explore. One is the fully restored former Newcastle East Police Station, located on the corner of Scott and Pacific Streets and constructed on 1880.
