Gilgandra is a town in New South Wales, located in its Central West area. Most of the town lies on the western banks of the Castlereagh River, and is largely dependent on agriculture.

The town prides itself as the origin of the `Cooee March,' a recruitment march during World War I that ended in Sydney. This event is annually commemorated every October, when street parades, mini rodeo, and the NSW Coo-ee Calling Championships are organized. Apart from this event, there's also the Easter Vintage Farm Rally.

First-time visitors can visit the Visitors' Information Centre, located at the Cooee March Memorial Park and open seven days a week. Read more...
