The Central Coast offers a wide variety of opportunities for fun, relaxation and recreation. It boasts of an array of great water activities which include fishing, surfing, boating, water skiing and scuba diving. Exploring the waterways of Tuggerah Lake, the Brisbane Water, the Calga Springs, and the Somersby Falls is endlessly fun-filled.

If one moves inland, the National Parks in the region as well as its state forests are amazing havens for campers, bushwalkers and wildlife lovers. Also part of the Central Coast tourism is its beautiful golf courses, its magnificent horse back-riding trails, and of course the all time favorite for families - daily pelican feeding. Tourists love going to the Australian Reptile Park which offers the magic of native Australian animals and the Australian bush. Other famous attractions include the Bouddi and Wyrrabalong National Parks, the Olney and Watagan State Forests, and the Old Sydney Town.

Each town in the Central Coast offers different forms of recreational opportunities. Gosford, the largest town in the region, offers a range of aquatic events including water skiing, jet boats and sailing. Terrigal, a popular beach side resort, hosts beautiful surfing beaches, fine restaurants and boutique accommodation. The Entrance which is further up north is just as famous for its amazing beaches. The Woy Woy which is at the southern end of the Central Coast provides picturesque bodies of water, where world-famous oysters are taken from. Surrounding Woy Woy are spectacular views and aboriginal sites as well as oceanic beaches. For fresh water lovers, Toukley lies on a narrow neck of land where lovely parks are stretched along the Tuggerah and the Budgewoi Lakes.
