Like the Grand Prix Cycle Racing, Surfers Paradise also enjoys Car racing. Champ Car World Series car race also takes place here. For the past many years this race is being celebrated in the streets of Surfers Paradise. This race first time took place in the Surfers Paradise in 1991. Till now this race has a run here in the later parts of the year.  This event is called as Lexmark Indy 300 event. It is actually not a single car racing event but has many small events which collectively are named as Lexmark Indy 300. During the few days when this event is being celebrated in the Surfers Paradise, the place is really colorful and full of life. It includes a number of smaller events as well. People participate in these races and enjoy a lot. A touristy who visits the Surfers Paradise while this event is on enjoys the place the most.

The Lexmark Indy 300’s contract with the Gold Coast was not renewed for 2009 so this year brings a new Gold Coast SuperGP in the streets of Surfers Paradise October 22-25.
