There are loads of annual events in Brisbane that can keep you busy throughout the year.
Some of these events include:

The Dreaming in June at Woodford is Australia’s international celebration of Indigenous culture. Riverfestival Brisbane in August-September at South Brisbane is Brisbane’s community and environmental festival celebrating their waterways and culture by focusing on the great Brisbane River. The Workshops Rail Museum’s annual event, Friends of Thomas, held at Ipswich during December-January is a great event for people of all ages, especially children. The Circus Train is another annual event held at Ipswich during September-October under the auspices of The Workshops Rail Museum. Ipswich festival of Children’s Literature during August-September plays a big role in promoting, reading, and writing of children’s books.

The sports lovers can look forward to Grand Prix Cycling Tour – South Bank showcasing world class cycling events in December. The Australian Nationals, held at Willowbank in September, is one of the most prestigious events on the Australian drag racing calendar. The annual Australian University Games in September generate tremendous excitement in all of the Australia.

The Frog Week (first week of December) at Canungra is a fun-filled festival with the exotic and exciting frogs displaying their peculiar histrionics.

Brisbane Photo Expo in November features images from over 50 Australian photographers in a unique gallery experience at one of Brisbane’s leading five star hotels. The event is a great motivator for the budding photographers and promotes professionalism in photography in Australia.

The annual Ideal Bridal Expo held in Fortitude Valley during September is Queensland’s longest running wedding exhibition. It’s an annual event for the past 11 years now. The Bridal Expo is a one-stop-shop for everything you need on the wedding day. There are lots of freebies and prizes to be won at the expo, which is usually very well attended.
